Thai Combination Massage

Most people may not be sure which massage therapy to choose or may even want to try more than one massage techniques. It’s why Thai combination massage is such a great option as it incorporates Thai yoga massage stretches with a blend of acupressure therapy, deep tissue massage, and even aromatherapy, to boost a perfect balance of relaxation and revitalisation.  In Thai combination massage, the therapist uses fingers, thumbs, elbows, hands and even feet on the client’s pressure points and muscles to balance the energy of the body.

Why Thai combination massage is so good for mind, body and spirit

Thai combination massage therapy is done by using firm pressure, stretches and soothing strokes to the back, neck and shoulder areas to target the source of pain. At your request, or at the discretion of the massage therapist, it can also incorporate deep tissue massage or aromatherapy.

By focusing on your back, neck and shoulder, you can get relief from aches and muscular tension, experience a feeling of wellbeing, along with other benefits all within 30-45 minutes.

Aromatherapy Massage

Need to unwind in a hurry? This is one massage therapy that is easily gone for because of the sweet feeling of nature’s touch. Neuroscience reveals that scent has the power to improve our emotions. Also, part of the brain that controls stress level, memory, breathing and hormone balance is connected to the nasal cavity, and this is the whole idea behind aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy massage therapy also known as Bespok, is quite like the Swedish massage but involves the use of one or more scented plant oils called essential oils.

These oils are said to have different properties to relax and heal the mind and body, as well as leaving the body enveloped in the sweet smelling vapours of nature’s oil while being massaged.

Various essential oils serve different purposes:

  • Some are for relaxation. Example, Lavender oil.
  • For calming emotions. Example is Frankincense oil.
  • As a disinfectant, anti-fungal and anti malaria. Example Tea tree oil.
  • For cold and congestion. Example Eucalyptus oil.
  • For quick energy. Examples peppermint oil.

In carrying out this therapy, individual blends of essential oils are well prepared by the therapist and applied indirectly on the skin of the client through a relaxing massage. The oils are not directly applied to the skin to avoid burning or rashes. Rather, they are used in a base of cold pressed oil to achieve a better result.

Foot Reflexology Massage

There are times we get so stressed that we get stress cues either on our hands or feet due to the adaptation of our hands and legs to stress. We know this when we start seeing signs like knobby toes, callousing or bunion.

Reflexology massage, also known as zone therapy helps to curb these stress cues on our hands and feet.

In reflexology massage, the therapist uses the hands and feet to determine the correspondence of one body system to another by massaging, squeezing or pressing part of the feet, hands or ears in some cases to improve other areas of the body.

It emanated from the idea that areas of the foot correspond to areas of the body, and sensory nerves of internal organs have their primary roots in the plantar of the foot. So, these feet are manipulated by the therapist to improve the health of their clients.

For a perfect result, there should be consistency in the therapy for like once a day for two weeks.

Swedish Massage

After a hard day’s job or perhaps a rigorous activity or even relationship issues and more, the body needs to be relaxed to rejuvenate.

Applying the Swedish massage therapy becomes the best option.

Swedish massage therapy, also known as relaxation massage, leaves a client with this feeling of complete rest and sense of real relaxation even after the therapy session.

In Swedish massage, the client is made to lay on a massage table in an environment that is very calm and comforting with dim light and cool music to keep the mind at total rest from stress and worries. The therapist gently applies pressure on the body and manipulates the muscle tissues carefully and smoothly with his hands which give total relaxation of the mind and body.

Additional techniques include bending and stretching, application of circular pressure by the hands and palm, and percussion-like tapping.

Swedish massage is geared toward Boosting of the immune system, Stress relief and Rejuvenation and the session can last for 45 minutes.

Deep Tissue Massage

When there is a problem such as postural problems, chronic muscle pains, back pains, limited mobility and stiffness, the deep tissue massage becomes the best option regarding treatment.

Deep tissue massage is therapeutic as well as corrective. It uses same movement and techniques as the Swedish massage but uses a more intense, yet focused pressure at the deeper tissue structures of the muscles and connective tissues (fascia).

The aim is to release the body from chronic patterns of tension through slow strokes and deep pressure on the contracted area.

During the session, the therapist either focuses on specific areas of the body to work on or works on the whole body. He sees to it that the breathing of the client is checked to minimise discomfort and get the best release from the muscles.

The result of the therapy can be seen within the next few days if done correctly.

Body Scrub Massage

Certain parts of the body are prone to become dry and rough. When it comes to restoring a dry skin back to a glowing one, dermatologists warned against certain harsh measures which are often used as the use of high antibacterial soap that strips away natural skin lipids.

Body scrub massage becomes the best treatment for that dry and dull skin, to make it smooth again.

It involves the use of some abrasive materials like salt, sugar, or even ground rice mixed with some sweet smelling essential oils that exfoliate the skin and leave it soft and smooth. The use of high-quality lotion after the scrub leaves the body well hydrated.

During the treatment session, the client is made to stay face down on either a wet table or on a massage table that is covered with a towel.

The therapist or esthetician gently rub the back, arms and feet of the client with the exfoliant that may either be rice, salt or sugar. After which the client is made to shower and return to the table for the application of the lotion. Steam towels can be used in place of a shower. The body scrub is technically not a massage but can be done with a massage which adds calmness to the treatment with a glow on the skin that leaves you feeling good.
